Wyatt's Birthday!

So much has happened in the last 2 months. I really hope to get caught up! I guess I should document your birthday before I forget. Just kidding-  I will never forget that special day!

I had "signs" for 2 days that you may be on your way so on 2-14-09 daddy and I started getting the house clean and ready just in case. Yes it was Valentines day so we were praying you would hang out a bit longer. I ended up getting contractions in the morning but nothing unbearable. I knew by lunch that you were coming soon because I couldn't eat so I basically sat on the couch and timed all my contractions while I made a costco list. Meanwhile your dad was all over the place cleaning and installing your carseat. Finally around 4:30 pm I was ready to go to the hospital. I waited a long time because I didn't want to get sent home. I was 5 centimeters dilated and the nurse asked why I waited so long to come in! Figures!  Well my contractions were on top of each other so I asked for an epidural. I dilated to a 9 in that one hour waiting for the epidural to kick in. Family visited while I was comfortable then it was time to start pushing around 9pm. Wow! Epidural wore off shortly after and I got the pleasure of feeling pain again. Anyway, after 4 hours of pushing, Dr.Najima (who was my doctor and luckily was on call that night) came in and we agreed to try the vacuum extractor just to give me a little help. Long story short, that worked and you were born at 1:04 am on 2-15-2009. Your Aunt Kari and Gramma were there the whole time to cheer me on! I should also note how wonderful your dad was. He told me for 4 hours that you were almost out and to push a little harder. Ha! No but he really was by my side the whole time, even when things got messy. Ok enough!  You are finally here and I would have done it a million times over.
I held you for a little bit but was pretty shaky and the doc was still "fixing" me up so your dad took you and I swear he stared at you for an hour straight. There are no words to express the emotions we felt that day and everyday since. Welcome to the world Wyatt Sanford Binker.

-I made your dad take that pic cause I had a feeling it would be the last one of you in my belly! Morning on 2-14-2009. The other pics were the first time we got to hold you 2-15-2009. And then one of you before your hospital bath. -Love Mom
