Wyatt,
I love and adore you! You know that though so here's an update. The few steps around your first birthday has turned into an almost run! I love the way you walk, sort of like a duck. You are very brood so you look like you walk with your chest out. So cute! So tuff! You are babbling so much and I think that you think we are having a real conversation. I listen and nod and talk back to encourage you. The doctor says you should say 5-10 words by 18 months and you already say .... mama, dada, hot, dog, ball, yeah, oh, no, (you nod no and yes too) and once I asked if you wanted a banana and you shouted "nonana"! Speaking of bananas, you love them! Along with apples, oranges, grapes, heck you eat all fruits! You still love to eat everything but are starting to be picky. One day you love chicken the next you spit it out. So we just to continue our normal foods and hope you'll eat if your hungry.
Every transition we have had to make has been so simple. I get really anxious when I know change is coming and think its going to be sooo hard but nope. You are so laid back and just go with the flow. For example, going to milk from formula was a breeze. Taking away the bottle was probably more your idea. Speaking of bottles, I have to note that you never held your own. Yes you wanted mommy to hold your bottle for you for 13 months! Its actually something I didn't really notice till Gramma said something about it. I think its cute but do know you were fully capable you just chose to keep your hands free. You do hold your own sippy cups.
Here's another confession: You have been co-sleeping with me in my bed for 13 1/2 months. I know its controversial but it all boils down to a choice and I felt safer with you next to me. We would read books and when you got that dreamy sleepy look you would stare at me till you drifted off. I loved how secure and cozy you always looked and wouldn't trade any of those nights. But now that I'm pregnant, we have moved you to your own room and crib. I thought it would be many nights of letting you cry it out but has actually been pretty easy. You only request that we stay in there till you fall asleep which only works with daddy because you want me to pick you up the whole time. So your dad sits in there for a few minutes and you drift off. We both like this better than making you cry it out and we know you will eventually be able to go to sleep all alone. It is nice for me to be able to read at night and go to the bathroom 10 times without fear of waking you up! I admit I miss you safely next to me. In case your wondering where your dad has been sleeping, couch! But only because he doesn't sleep well and wakes up alot throughout the night so he likes to be near the tv.
You are just an active little guy. You are very good at throwing a ball and can actually slam dunk! You ride your quad and dump truck all the time and like to get in your police car. You still like watching dirt bike racing on tv with your dad and and get all wide eyed. Speaking of dirt bikes, you recently started hanging out with your dad in the garage. I thought you were in your stroller watching but turns out daddy lets you run all over the place. You come in just filthy! You like to spin the wheels and watch him fix things. You actually throw a fit when we make you come in. Such a boy!
We find out if your going to have a sister or brother in about 5 weeks. This pregnancy has been the same. I feel great even though you don't let me rest much! The house is stocked with lots of sugary cereal since that seems to be my pregnancy must have!
Easter is coming next Sunday. I can't wait to see you run around and hunt for those eggs. I'll be sure to take lots of pics and video. As always, you have my heart. -Love Mom
